Renata Thormann Procianoy Award

Know more about the award
The prize
The Renata Thormann Procianoy Award is a unique award that encourages researchers dedicated to the area of oncology, which has been awarded by the Cura Project Institute, since 2019, during the Best of ASCO Brazil. Inspired by the moving story of Nora Thormann Procianoy and her daughter Renata Thormann Procianoy, this award represents the relentless spirit of the quest for medical knowledge and advancement. Renata, driven by the determination to cure her mother, tirelessly dedicated herself to the search for solutions that could diagnose and treat the complications associated with Nora's breast implants. Abandoning everything to dedicate herself to this mission, Renata exemplified the power of love and dedication in seeking her mother's cure.
The legacy
After two years of tireless efforts by Renata, thanks to research coordinated by renowned Dr. Roberto Miranda at the University of Texas MD Anderson Hospital, Nora's medical issues were successfully identified and treated. Unfortunately, during that period, Renata passed away, but her legacy of determination and hope lives on through this award. The Cura Project Institute was honored to honor Nora's honor to her daughter, establishing the Renata Thormann Procianoy Prize. This award recognizes the efforts of oncology researchers and perpetuates Renata's memory.
